Introduction and overview

For those of you that saw the S.E.R.V.O thing at Liljevalchs and would like to know more about ideas around consumer-driven design, see Breed Better Design (Design Journalen, Januar 1999).

The computer are in our homes...including the kitchen!

In the future we will likely see more than Digital Television. It holds promises of intelligent appliances, wireless communication pads, personal digital assistants, multimedia cars, communicating toys, etc.

The development of connecting computers in a big network (Internet) is currently turned towards connecting computers in separate network (islands).

As I see it, right now the (IT) industry is moving away from Internet towards isolated networks.

One healty opposite force is sourced by Open-IP.
